ACER Aspire 5750 Core i3-2310M Laptop Review

Acer has unleashed a brand new laptop ‘the Aspire 5750′, boasting a whole raft of new capabilities and yet it promises to delivery more for your money. Some of the features we now see emerging in the latest Acer laptops are a direct result of its efforts to safeguard its market share from rival computer brands and the threat its faced with from the tablet computers. But this does not change the fact that the ACER Aspire 5750 is a powerful laptop without a doubt.
The main highlights of this laptop are; the inclusion of a powerful Intel Core i3-2310M processor which is more upbeat with the premium series laptops as it comes with an additional cache memory of 3MBs. This is particularly useful when a machine has to bear the load of handling multiple applications simultaneously.
We think indeed the ACER Aspire 5750 laptop has been well designed and with a host of multimedia features it does seem to offer good value for money. The only slight downside is the extra bit of weight on it at around 2.6kgs, which is still quite acceptable but does not bring it at par with the most portable ones on the market. Whereas another argument might suggest that the extra add-ons and enormous capacity on this machine had to add a few extra pounds and centimetres to its overall weight and dimensions.

Design
The Aspire 5750 or 5750G are latest and restructured releases of the predecessor the Acer Aspire 5742G. Acer has now made some visible improvements to the exterior body and styling of the new release. You will notice it now has a Matt finish plastic lid which is a great choice for keeping the dust particles from accumulating around the screen and touchpad.
The plastic used on the outer shell appears very firm and much more resistant to an impact on the surface. It also has an improved angle and placement to reduce the impact and keeping it from harming the chasis. The lid appears sturdy enough to be lifted, while only holding it at the front panel.
Overall we think Acer has done a good job of shielding the components and styling the exterior body of this laptop.
Processor, RAM and Hard Disk
The most common variant of this laptop is available with an Intel Core i3-2310M processor which is a great choice to provide enough power for even the most advanced users. The graphics handling is also nicely routed to the built in Intel® HD Graphics 3000 integrated GPU, which spreads the pressure otherwise imposed on the processor alone.
Other variants of this laptop are also available in higher capacity processors such as the i7-2630QM CPU but the price mark and battery efficiency is lowered in the high spec models.
Multimedia
As the previous model the 5742G had a built in GeForce® GT 420M, Intel has instead introduced the Intel® HD Graphics 3000 integrated GPU which nicely bears the system load when intensive graphics are displayed. Having extra processing support for a graphic GPU also improved the battery life.
The HD Acer CineCrystal LED does a decent job of displaying the visuals in high definition. The screen is also further optimised in the ACER Aspire 5750 to produce better/brighter graphics using low voltage and controllable emissions in low load.

Bottom Line
We think that the ACER Aspire 5750 laptop has a generous set of components and yet the system delivery a good battery life of 4.5 hours. The size of this machie is a slight disappointment but its certainly not completely off the mark to compete with other brands in this category. In short this laptop is ideal for you if you seek something powerful, stylish and affordable. The added multimedia bonus features such as the Optimized Dolby® Advanced Audio and the HD Acer CineCrystal LED display screen is also a great attraction for the gaming fanatics out there.
